Additional competition regulations

The following documents must be submitted either electronically or by post by the 15th January 2008 (date of postmark, if sent by post):

  • completed registration form (PDF-Download)
  • photocopy or scanned version of birth certificate or passport as proof of age
  • brief CV with details of musical education (teachers, qualifications, prizes)
  • photograph (ideally 9 x 13cms or 300dpi)
  • rreference from a teacher or professional musician
  • programme list of competitor’s selected pieces
Any changes made by the competitor to his chosen repertoire must be submitted by 1 April 2008 and must be approved by the organising committee.

Applicants will be informed by the 15th February 2008 whether they have been accepted to compete or not. Successful applicants must transfer the registration fee of € 100,- into the following bank account by the 31st March:

Bank charges must be paid by the competitor.

Accepted competitors who take part in the competition will be refunded half of the registration fee; candidates who decide not to compete will not receive a refund.

  • The jury’s decision is final. Any decisions made by the jury are irrevocable and incontestable. Changes may be made to the formation of the jury. The jury reserves the right to interrupt a performance. Members of the jury will not evaluate their own students. Candidates will assessed according to a system of marks from 1 to 25. The competitors remain anonymous.
  • Competitors may make use of a registrant.
  • Organs in a number of local churches will be available to competitors for practice according to a schedule made by the organisers.
  • The organisers reserve the right to allow radio and television recordings and their reproduction. Should this be the case the competitors agree to waive any rights or fees relating to these recordings.
  • All travel costs, accommodation and expenses are the responsibility of the competitors, who must also organise their own accommodation. Affordable (approx. € 25 per day, B&B) and convenient accomodation is available on request in Roncalli House, located next to the catholic cathedral and a few minutes walk from the other venues.
